SEATTLE UNIVERSITY MENS SOCCER | ENGLAND TOUR | MARCH 2023
Embarking on a 10-day tour of England, Seattle University Men's Soccer created life-long experiences with Vertex Soccer Tours. The trip included competitive fixtures, world-class training grounds, live games, exclusive stadium tours and more…
After settling in and exploring the Capital after a long flight, the men faced their first fixture: Crystal Palace U21 at Beckenham Training Ground, a test of their skills and quality against top opposition at a world class training facility.
Challenges continued with matches against Wolves U19 at Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground and Notts County U19 at Loughborough University, offering insights into different styles of English talent.
For the first time on Vertex Soccer Tours, the team witnessed live international matches, including England U20 vs. Germany U20 and England U21 vs. Croatia U21, held at the Etihad Campus Stadium and Leicester’s King Power Stadium. They also experienced the excitement of Chelsea vs. Everton at Stamford Bridge.
In the heart of London, finding full-size turf pitches can be a challenge, but Seattle trained at Powerleague Shoreditch, a unique location surrounded by tube lines and high-rise apartments.
The tour also included stadium tours, with visits to Wembley Stadium, the iconic home of English football, and the Etihad Stadium, home to Manchester City, offering a glimpse behind the scenes of professional athletes' lives on game day.
As the final whistle blew on their 10-day journey, Seattle University Men's Soccer returned home with an abundance of memories. This experience wasn't just about soccer; it was about embracing new cultures and witnessing the global allure of the sport. The tour showcased the universal language of soccer and brought a team closer together, ready for their upcoming season.
